The cottages are depicted on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map (approximately 1880s in date), showing the manor house to have been converted by this time.

Thorp, J. + Horton, D., 2007, The farm buildings at Coombe Hall, Drewsteignton, 21-25 (Report - Assessment). SDV347654.

Pair of one-up, one-down labourers’ cottages, converted from the old manor house. The basic plan is one room on the ground floor, heated by a fireplace at the south end and a large chamber above. In both cottages there are stairs in the north-west corners of the main rooms up to the first floor. The southern cottage retains a later 19th century timber partition providing two bedrooms on the first floor. Each cottage has a small service room/store. Some features date to the 16th or 17th century including the fireplace in the south cottage which was adapted from its use in the manor house to serve the 19th century cottage.
