Summary

Alleged saxon moot hill. In a paper read to the teign naturalists field club, general sir claude bray drew attention to a large mound, with traces of ledges in the park to the south of haccombe house. It was suggested that this mound is a saxon moot hill. Its position is at the end of a spur, the end of which has been built up with earth and stones to form a dome-shaped extremity not less than 15.24m from level top to hollow below. The summit of the mound would permit a circle of 60 or so people (joce).

Vis=26/11/1952 (os) apparently a natural mound, with a slightly higher dome-shaped extremity. It does not seem to be made up, and the top is not stoney. The ledges are cattle-walks (os).
