(23/03/1953) Probable Bronze Age cairn SX 7243 8025 A grass and gorse covered mound in which there are many exposed stones. Measures 13.0m east-west, 11.0m north-south, 0.7m high. There is no encircling ditch. It is probably a Bronze Age cairn whose odd shape may be a result of previous excavation.

Grinsell, L. V., 1978, Dartmoor Barrows, 154, Manaton 3 (Article in Serial). SDV273224.

(24/09/1973) Cairn on Heatree Down, measuring 14.5 metres in diameter, and 0.6 metres high. The cairn itself has been disturbed by looting and is bumpy.

Gerrard, S., 2004, List of Sites Remaining to be Considered for Designation on Dartmoor (Un-published). SDV345444.

This cairn was considered for designation as a Scheduled Ancient Monument during the Monument Protection Programme. The programme ended before the entire list of sites was successfully scheduled so this is included on a local list of Nationally Important Sites.
