Summary

Trackwayvis=14/9/1950(os) the remains of an old track running up onto the downs from the south side of babbacombe quarry. This can be traced with certainty for a short distance only, but its general direction just before it disappears is towards macenery's double entrenchment. The track takes the easiest way up to the top of the downs and would be suitable for the movement of heavily laden horse-drawn waggons. It will be noticed that this track cuts through one of the field banks and thus appears to post date the field system on walls hill.
