Summary
A type FW3/22 pillbox standing on the grassy cliff top opposite the end of Kings Avenue.
Full description
1996: A low level aerial photograph taken in 1948 shows a type FW3/22 pillbox standing on the grassy cliff top opposite the end of Kings Avenue. Its entrance is on the NW face and it appears to have a protective skirt of concrete. <1> <2>
Two postcards, one franked in 1950, show this pillbox. It is unclear whether there is a protective 'skirt' as earth appears to have been piled up around the pillbox to the level of the loopholes and this has probably been grassed over. <4>
An aerial photograph taken in 1960 shows it to have been demolished by that date. <3>
