1996: An aerial photograph taken in 1946 shows the indistinct shape of a pillbox – possibly an FW3/22 – on the beach at this point. <1> <2>

An aerial photograph taken in 1960 shows its demolished remains. <3>

Some seaweed-covered very large pieces of concrete, with reinforcement rods, still remain. Also, a large piece of concrete with “serrated shuttering” – typically from the low entrance of a Type 22 – to prevent bullets ricocheting into the pillbox.

2009: Visited in November 2009, the entire area of the beach has altered here with the introduction of cut rock breakwaters. Nothing was seen of the pieces of pillbox. One photo of site. <5>
