Full description

1996: An aerial photograph taken in 1948 shows a type FW3/22 pillbox, possibly with a protective “skirt” standing about 80 yards S of West Road. An aerial photograph taken in 1960 shows no sign of it. The area is now a golf course. <1> <2> <3>

2006: The site of the pillbox was at the S end of a row of trees. In 2006, small pieces of typically WWII concrete still lie at this position, almost certainly the final remains of the pillbox.
