Summary
"Cantilever" Pillbox (destroyed),
Full description
A low-level aerial photograph taken in August 1947 shows the clear shape of an F.C. Construction Co. “cantilever” pillbox standing by the former boundary of the site. With the post-war construction of the concrete runways, this area has been totally altered and the former boundary site is now grassland beside the runway. Although the site has not been visited it is clear that the pillbox cannot have survived.
