Full description

A plan of Rochford Airfield dated June 1945 and a low-level aerial photograph taken in August 1947 show an hexagonal pillbox standing on the grass just outside the perimeter track where it turns the corner. With the post-war building of the concrete NE/SW runway, this area has been totally changed and the runway passes over the original site.<1><2>
