Pillbox (destroyed),

Full description

An aerial photograph taken in May 1946 shows the clear shape of an hexagonal pillbox standing 30/40 yards S of Shopland Road, partly beneath a tree line. The entrance can be seen on the NW face. A local survey, undertaken in 1995, records that at that time the pillbox stood, although partly demolished. The site has now been completely cleared, however, and the area is open agricultural land. <1> <2>
