Summary
Pillbox (destroyed)
Full description
An aerial photograph taken by the RAF in July 1946 shows the clear outline of a pillbox at the top of the beach by the SW corner of the former Butlin’s site. It is built immediately alongside a groyne, is hexagonal and has another, possibly square concrete structure between it and the promenade. <1>
This area has been significantly altered since the war and nothing now remains of the pillbox.
