Full description

This pillbox is recalled locally as having stood on The Greensward opposite The Crescent. <1> An aerial photograph taken by the RAF in 1946 shows the shape of an hexagonal pillbox, with an adjoining small rectangle on its landward side, in the grass at this point. This is possibly the concrete base of a Type FW3/22 with an anti-aircraft well, after the pillbox had been demolished. <2> <3> One photo of site. <4>
