Full description
A 2500:1 map dated 1965 shows a hexagonal pillbox standing 100 yards to the W of the River Chelmer. <1> This is confirmed by a local survey in 1979 which describes it as a "polygonal, concrete pillbox, facing NE, with internal brick Y wall." <2> It was demolished, or buried, when the A12 Chelmsford by-pass was constructed in 1987.
