Contemporary records state, "Pill box. Near St. Cleres Farm. Opposite Lone Tree. Map ref. 138975" (Mil.Ed.). <1> This pillbox can be seen on an aerial photograph taken in 1946 standing on the sea wall to the E of a "lone tree". <2> It is also shown as a double-ended type on 1:2500 maps dated 1959. <3>
