1994: Contemporary records state, "Pill box. Old Garlands Farm. Map ref. 160005" (Mil.Ed.). <1> An aerial photograph taken in 1946 shows this pillbox standing on the marshes. <2> The entire area is now part of Shell Haven Refinery.

July 2012: A study of aerial photographs at the NMR has revealed that this pillbox was a strongpoint in a Defended Area (EHER 14767). Noted in 1994 above, it can just be seen on the edge of an ECC aerial photograph taken in 1946. Apparently hexagonal, its type cannot be determined. The site of the pillbox has not been visited but the area is now derelict land. <3> <4>
