Contemporary records state, "Pillbox. OS No. 48 N. of Playing Field N. of School and partly adj. railway. Map ref. 966538". (Mil.Ed.) <1> An aerial photograph taken by the RAF in 1946 shows the indistinct shape of an hexagonal pillbox facing NE standing in the NW corner of a small field with hedges. The field extended from this position eastwards to the railway. <2> All hedges and field boundaries have now disappeared and there is no sign of the pillbox.
