1995: Contemporary records state, "Concrete pillbox and firing platform. Samuel Lewis Home, The Naze, NE corner of garden. Map ref. 711411" (Mil.Ed.). <1> The Samuel Lewis Seaside Convalescent Home no longer exists and the area is now housing. The NE corner of the garden would place the pillbox 30/40 yards from the cliff edge.
February 2012: An aerial photograph taken in February 1941 shows the pillbox immediately outside the NE corner of the garden although its type can not be determined. <2>
