An aerial photograph taken in 1960 shows the clear shape of a pillbox standing on the cliff edge 150 yards to the SSE of the Naze Tower. <1> It is of the same type as those further N (SMRs 10622, 10623), basically a Type FW3/22 with a rectangular anti-aircraft well on its W side. There is no apparent sign of it in an aerial photograph taken in 1970. <2> <3>
