Full description
The Stanier Line followed the path of what is now Laurel Avenue and in this position stood a hexagonal pillbox facing S. This can be clearly seen on an aerial photograph taken in 1948. The anti-tank blocks run N and S of the pillbox but in each case stop some 20 yards from it. From here the two lines are connected by what is probably an anti-tank wall running around the W side of the pillbox. <1>
