Summary
House and outbuildings associated with a post-medieval windmill
Monument Types
- HOUSE (Post Medieval - 1501 AD to 1900 AD)
Full description
A house with an L plan is shown here on the 1879 OS map <1>, in a garden and accompanied by two detached outbuildings and a third building to the north with the plan of a barn. A track led past the property to a windmill [5530] 115m to the rear.
By 1898 the mill had been demolished. The house, named Millhouse, and its outbuildings remained unaltered although by 1923 <3> the barn had gone. Later in the 20th century all the buildings were demolished and the rectangular plot is now covered with trees.
