Full description
The earliest coins from the Hertford mint were struck under Athelstan (AD 925-939). Coins were then struck under the following rulers: Ethelred II (979-1016); Cnut the Great (1016-1035); Harold I (1035-1040) and William I or II (1066-1100) <1>. The site of the actual mint is not known, and they are not common.
