Full description

Gatehouse range of early 16C date built for the Capel family and incorporating a 15C brick building <1>; the manor house of the Baud family <2>. Two storeys, of red brick facing S with a central gateway into the entrance court of Hadham Hall [1981]. Probably of non-agricultural origin; now part of the school <1>. Brick building with some brick nogging. Built in two phases. Large through gate in N and S face. Some windows to both N and S face and a large window (once a door) to the east end of the south face. To the west side of the gateway is another similar opening. Both have now large glass windows. Gable ended clay tile roof <3>.
