Full description

'Romano-British and Belgic sherds are reported 300yds north-east of road 169B at 600ft OD and 3/4s of a mile from the river (SP99501390)' <1>; Romano-British sherds [507] were apparently recovered at SP 9961 1386 during an excavation carried out by a Mr Bell c.1957 <2>. For Roman 'road 169B' <3> see [4599]; this road is conjectural.
