Full description
18th or early 19th century icehouse, built into the earth bank on inner edge of the 'moat' [391]. A domed brick circular chamber of red brick with a deep conical well below the level of the entrance passage from the south. It is entered near the springing of the dome by a narrow vaulted brick lined passage originally with a wooden door at each end <1>.
