Full description
Type 24 <1> hexagonal, concrete pillbox by the allotments and sports field at the S end of Shenley. Facing N, it has machine gun apertures, one on each face, and is in good condition - probably because it was originally shuttered with wood rather than bricks. During WWII a massive anti-tank ditch crossed in front of this pillbox <2, 3>. See [6607].
