Full description
The second Cross Keys Bridge was replaced in 1894-7 by a road and rail swing bridge, which was worked by hydraulic power. The engine house for the hydraulic power is situated nearby (see PRN 20484). The engineer for this bridge was J. Allen McDonald. After the closure of the railway line in 1959, the second carriageway was eventually converted for road use. {1}{2}
