Three portions of cross or crosses with carved Anglo-Saxon work were discovered 'many years ago' in the ruins of the old church of North Stoke and re-erected in the Park. The cross is nearly 7 ft high and stands on two blocks of stone. {1}{2}
The cross is now located in the churchyard of the Church of Saint Andrew and St Mary in South Stoke, now known as Stoke Rochford. The site of North Stoke church is not known. {3}{4}
A Saxon cross shaft with good interlacing on all four sides, has been set up in a stone case. It is broken in three pieces and cemented together. Height about 7ft. {5}{6}
The cross is dated as mid 11th century by Everson and Stocker. {7}
