Full description

Main A52 road straightened to by-pass Bridge End & follow Horbling parish boundary, thereby cutting through site (traditionally) of burial ground of St Saviour. Although the soil was excavated down to natural sand & gravel (approx. 3 feet or more) - no sign of burials. Field walking produced 1 or 2 sherds of RB pot, 1 or 2 sherds post-med & 1 sherd ?Iron Age. Further field walking produced nothing else. {1} Sherd perhaps of I.A. scratched marked pottery during straightening of A52.
