Full description

St Mary's Church is situated in Alvingham but belonging to North Cockerington. The nave and walls retain Norman stonework and a Saxon window on the north side of the chancel. The chancel arch seems Early English in date. The church was much restored in 1841 and stands in the same churchyard as St Adelwolds in Alvingham. The church predates the Priory of St Mary which was located close by a few years later. {1}{2}{3}{4}{5}
