The Church of St Mary was built in 1420 and restored in 1847 and 1881. It is built of ashlar, squared ironstone and limestone rubble, with lead roofs behind parapets.There is a western tower, a nave with clerestory, aisles, chancel, south porch, north chapel. For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {1}{2}{3}{4}{5}

Foundation details of the 15th century church tower were recorded in November 1999, during archaeological monitoring of groundwrosk for the installation of new drainage. The chamfered plinths of the tower and buttress were identical and contemporary, suggesting the buttresses were an original part of the tower design. {6}{7}
