Full description

PRN 41975
The core of the present farmhouse was constructed in brick in c.1660, but there have been a number of subsequent alterations and extensions. The present manor probably replaces an earlier manor house which was situated within the moated area (PRN 43552) {1} {2}
During trial trenching, Anglo-Saxon features and finds were recorded at TF4911 6726 (see PRN 44379), which suggest the possibility that a pre-Conquest precursor to the medieval manor complex may have existed on this site {3}{4}
A farmhouse dating from around 1660 which was altered and extended in about 1830, the 19th and 20th centuries. It was constructed of red brick in English bond and has a pantile roof with steeply pitched, raised brick coped tumbled gables and moulded kneelers. For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {5}
