Parish:OSGODBY, WEST LINDSEY, LINCOLNSHIRE

Full description

PRN 50533
Until recently, Kingerby was a separate ecclesiastical parish, and the settlement is separately recorded in all medieval and later returns. For details see ‘Change and Continuity’. {2}
Medieval pottery including green glazed and gritty wares found during field walking. {1}{4}
The Kingerby metal detecting rally produced many finds of the medieval period - see finds records. {8}{9}
A ditch was observed during a watching brief along a water pipeline route through the village. The ditch was undated but it is thought likely that it is associated with the medieval settlement remains. A small amount of medieval pottery was recovered from subsoil, including ware types from Lincoln, the Potterhanworth area, Toynton All Saints and the Humber area. {10}{11}
