Full description

An Anglo-Saxon inhumation burial was recorded and excavated in September 1972, in the garden of 35 Nettleton Road (on the boundary with the adjoining house). The remains were of a 23-28 years old individual, who had been buried in a crouched position. Grave goods found with the skeleton included 2 bronze annular brooches, an iron knife, and iron ring, 2 glass beads, 3 pottery beads and 1 amber bead. The burial may possibly be an outlier of a nearby Anglo-Saxon cemetery (see PRN 50220). {1}{2}{3}{4}{5}
