Full description

The remains of a medieval standing stone cross lies within the churchyard of the Church of St Peter, Friesthorpe, approximately 5m south of the church's south door. The monument includes the base of the cross, which takes the form of a socket stone, and the bottom of the cross shaft. The monument is scheduled and there is a full description in the revised scheduling document 22682. The paved path to the north of the cross is not included in the scheduling although the ground beneath that section of the path which falls within the area of the scheduling is included. {1}{2}{3}
