Eight features consisting of three linear cuts, four circular cuts and one burnt clay area (possible hearth) were found. Pottery was also recovered which provided dating evidence (ninth to eleventh century). {1}{2}
Evaluation in the form of four test pits and one trial trench was undertaken by Pre-Construct Archaeological Services in October 2011 at Kingerby Hall. Test pit one and two revealed a sherd of Saxo Norman pottery (970-1080 AD) in each test pit. Test pit four revealed a sherd of mid 5th to mid 8th century pottery. {3}{4}
