A pair of mid 18th century, limestone ashlar pillars, built as part of the Aswarby Park Estate for the Whichcote family and bearing their crest. The pillars mark the grand axis of the demolished country house. These pillars mark the former route of the main road to Sleaford. The route was changed, and the village of Aswarby moved, in the mid 19th century when Aswarby Park was improved and expanded. {2}
The pillars lie within Aswarby Park, which has been designated as a Registered Park (see PRN 63997). {3}
