Full description

Grade II* listed preceptory, now subdeanery and offices, dating from the 13th century, altered in the 14th century, added to in the 17th century, remodelled and extended in 1827 and refronted in 1873 by J L Pearson. A Roman hypocaust and mosaic pavement were found on the site in the 18th century, and remain in situ. It is dressed stone and brick, with a stucco east front, ashlar dressings and plain tile roofs, with four gable and single ridge and side wall stacks.
