Full description
Grade II listed former stables and riding school, now two flats and garages. The buildings were constructed in the late 17th century and were possibly altered by Sir John Vanbrugh. They were remodelled in 1959 by R. J. Page. The building has ashlar blocks, a Collyweston hipped roof with lead dressings and two ashlar ridge stacks with moulded tops. To the centre of the parapet a scrolled cartouche bears the date of 1959 and the Ancaster cypher, surmounted by a coronet. The building was probably part of the building works commissioned by the Second Earl of Lindsey after the Restoration in 1660. {1}
