The pillbox formed part of the Second World War Coastal Crust and was built of concrete with a brick facing, with a loop over a low entry. The pillbox was reportedly attached to a nearby searchlight unit. {1}{2}{3}

The pillbox was still extant in March 2010, when it was photographed as part of the Rapid Landscape Assessment for a proposed wind farm cable route. The structure is brick-clad, in the hexagonal, type 22 form. Dating to the Second World War, it possibly formed part of the defences for the nearly airfield. {4}{5}
