Full description
In 1322, an indulgence was granted for the repair of the chapel of St James within the hospital, outside the walls of the Abbey; it is uncertain if the hospital was for the poor or the sick. It was probably under the patronage of, or dependant on, the Abbey. [1]
The Abbey was purchased in 1610 by Sir Vincent Skinner, who demolished the 'college' to make way for a hall. The college may have been an almshouse. [2]
