Full description

A small bank, surmounted originally by a fence or hedge, is not uncommon among midland villages. The enclosure award (1769) refers to "the ring of the village" which is still clearly visible round the south side of the village. It encloses an area about 450yds by 700yds. (1)
Investigation of "ring of a village" to the S of existing settlement. (2)
00021 is not clearly defined as a bank. Enclosure ditches link to it and it may be simply a composite boundary alignment within the field system. (3)
See M7879 for shrunken village, M240 - fishpond.
