From Rosington to Blith. I askid of a castelle that I heard say was sumtyme at Blith; but other answer lernid not but that a litle or (before) I cam ynto the toune ther apperith yn a wood sides token of an auncient building. (1)
There was a Norman castle at Blyth that is believed to have stood near the Abbey, or else the Abbey was built on the castle's site (quotes Blyth Abbey M/S as evidence). (2)
Local research and enquiry revealed no additional information concerning this site that had apparently vanished by the early C16. (3)
