13TH CENTURY IN ORIGIN LICENCE TO CRENELLATE GRANTED 1296. VERY LITTLE OF THE ORIGINAL MEDIAEVALBUILDING REMAINS. ADDED TO AND ALTERED IN AT LEAST 3 STAGES INCLUDING A 15TH CENTURY TOWER AND 18THCENTURY ALTERATIONS. IN THE POSSESSION OF THE CARMELITE FRIARS SINCE 1972 AS A MONASTERY. GRADE I.
