  • Description

    1- 3) Med manor house built by Henry I. First of 6 chapels recorded in 1186, another c.1233. House in disrepair in C16th, restored early C17th. Damaged in Civil War, demolished 1714 during landscaping of the park.
    4) Copy of report and miscellaneous images transferred to Oxon History Centre.
    6) Insufficient information to classify site as A/S palace or magnate's residence.

    NB: Some correspondence and images of Woodstock Palace transferred to Oxon History Centre.
