Description

A sherd of medieval pottery (off-white fabric with green glaze: Surrey Ware?) was found during a watching brief at the corner of Mill Lane-Southampton Street. No medieval stratigraphy noted as the site was very disturbed by cellaring. A number of wells of possibly 19th century date were also observed. There is some discrepancy between the NGR given on the BAU card and the location described <1>.
