Description
Approximately square stone built cellar using a mixture of sandstone types and masonry types. The (west) wall to the passage is built of coursed, square, Grinshill ashlar, possibly extending north out of the cellar/beyond the superstructure. The south party wall (with 62375) is of mixed construction with roughly coursed rubble and some smaller unsquared rubble. The back (east) wall is of large finely-jointed ashlar over coursed small rubble; the north (former end) wall is of smaller coursed rubble similar to the lower courses of the back wall. The south party wall incorporates a rectangular lamp niche with a stone lintel, close to the modern floor surface- probably recently raised [<1>]. For further discussion see mon 62375 <2>
