Description
In 1874 the Earl of Powis presented to the Powysland museum, Welshpool, a brass ornament, with 2 pendants, a third being wanted, being a portion of horse trapping of the C15. The above was found with other articles at Castle Bryn Amlwg, near Rhyddur Oak, in Bettws parish.
Exhibited to the Soc of Antiquaries 18 June 1874, similarly described except metal said to be bronze, and the site near a place named Rhyddur Vale.. Allotted under Riltws Hills Inclosure, which suggested that the find was made during the reclamation of common land. Object could not be found by L F Chitty. See also PRN 01187 <1>
