Description

Crugyn (mound shown) <1a>
Crugyn: a tumulus on the boundary between Montgomery and Salop, 1.75 miles NE of Bishop's Castle <1b>
The only mound in this area is that at SO2995 9005 covering a hilltop water reservoir. It measures 18m square at the base and 6m square at the top, and 6m in height. It must be presumed that the reservoir occupies the site of the original Crugyn. OS FI 1979 <1>
