Description
The Severn Bridge formed part of the original design of Shrewsbury Railway Station. Work started on it in August 1848. The bridge is a seven-arched masonry bridge, which was originally considerably narrower than it is today (as a photograph of c1875 shows). It was widened between 1899 and 1903 as part of the station rebuilding. <1>
