A chapel, now destroyed, once stood at Plaish <1>
A free chapel dedicated to St. Margaret, within the castle at Paish, is recorded in 1169 and in 1542. References from NRHE: Register of Sir Thomas Botelar (ed W A Leighton). Harleian Manuscript 433<1a><1b>
Its site is probably marked by the field name Chapel Yard on the Tithe Map <2>
